Requirements for Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Understanding the Calculation of Canadian Work Experience

To qualify as skilled work experience in Canada, your employment history must involve paid work, encompassing paid wages or earned commission. Volunteer work or unpaid internships do not contribute to the calculation.

In the case of part-time employment, flexibility is allowed, with the condition that the total hours amount to at least 1, 560 within a specified timeframe. Moreover, you have the option to work more than one part-time job concurrently to accumulate the required hours for your application.

As per the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC), skilled work experience is categorized into:

1. Managerial jobs (skill level 0)
2. Professional jobs (skill type A)
3. Technical jobs and skilled trades (skill type B)

Your work experience can encompass one or more NOC 0, A, or B jobs. It’s essential to identify and utilize the appropriate NOC Code for accurate classification.

Language Requirement for Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

To qualify for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), you are required toattain a minimum language proficiency level of English or French language:

1. CLB 7 for TEER 0 or TEER 1 occupations
2. CLB 5 for TEER 2 or TEER 3 occupations.
